Hike with a Librarian

Hike with a Librarian

One thing we have learned during the Covid-19 pandemic is the importance of connections, not only with our fellow humans and pets but also with nature and with our past. Hike with a Manatee County Librarian along the trails of Emerson Point Preserve and discuss a non-fiction book while enjoying Florida's scenery. After the discussion, a Manatee County Parks & Natural Resources guide will talk about the local fauna and flora and the history of the area. If there is still time after the talk, we will walk around the park at a leisurely pace.

There will be a special focus on the temple mounds found at this preserve and the native peoples of our area. Book title: Florida Native American Heritage Trail
