Struggle for Freedom Along the Florida Gulf Coast into the Caribbean
New College anthropology professor Dr. Uzi Baram will discuss the paths taken by early 19th century freedom-seeking people of African heritage along the Gulf Coast of Florida; this Network to Freedom stretched from the Apalachicola River to the Manatee River and across to The Bahamas.
