Creative Aging: Pastels
Join Teaching Artist Karalee Hammes for a course in Pastels!
- Understanding the differences between types of pastels
- Blending & Feathering: Finger blending is a great place to begin for pastel practice. The feathering technique creates dimension through layering colors.
- Hatching & Cross-Hatching: This technique creates texture and depth through lines. Masking: Masking is a technique that involves covering areas of the paper with tape or other materials to create sharp edges.
- Stippling: Stippling is a technique that involves creating texture through small dots.
- Final class will be creating a project selected by the students.
Paper and supplies will be provided. When you register, you will be signed up for all classes in the series.
