Creative Aging: Back to Basics --The Basics of Drawing
Join teaching artist, Karalee Hammes, for a series of art classes focusing on the basics of drawing and color! Students will register once for the whole series.
This class is for beginners and not suitable for those who have taken previous classes with our teaching artist.
Those 55 and over who are able to attend all six classes are invited to register!
Classes include:
4/29 The Basics of Drawing – This class helps to build a foundation for students, so they understand composition, perspective, and shading.
5/6 Drawing Landscapes – The class works with the student to develop a landscape drawing in one sitting, helping them understand composition, perspective and shading.
5/13 Color Magic –Watercolor - This class helps the student understand color mixing, hues and values. A small project should be completed by the end of the session.
5/20 Watercolor Student Project – The first part of the class is discussing watercolor techniques. The student should bring in an 8x10 photo of that they would like to paint.
6/3 Project Continuation – The student will work on their project with each student receiving individual help.
6/10 Finish Project – The student will complete the project and we will have a “show and tell”
